Match: DA T.O.P.L.A.S. III (0) vs. The Mighty Stenchy Bones (1)

What a long game...15 scoreless turns before The Mighty Stenchy Bones drove one in on turn 16 ending the Game. A victory for the undead, but at the cost of a player, as number 5(the as of yet unamed player)was forever lost. The Kill goes to Ramz Da'Bone...sort of appropriate really.

Match: Riders of the Apocalypse (2) vs. Beau Nidles (0)

If ever a game turned on a die-roll, this was it. Beau Nidles storming up the flank, just to make it safe a Blitz-Ra goes for it - 1, reroll 1, breaks armour, dies, fails regen. Leaves the Thro-Ra with the ball to be surfed and a load of free blocks for the Riders. Pretty much game over at this point. A ray of sunshine at the start of the second half with a helpful perfect defence, but the complete lack of armour breaks (2 stuns, 1 KO) meant that life was always difficult. Well done Steven for capitalising!
Edit: the one ray of light was I made 4 out of 5 regens. But I had to make 5 regens!

Match: Sam Frankenstein's Forty-Nine Feet Unders (1) vs. Silverleaf Strikers (2)

This game was interesting in many ways. First off it was a classic match up of smash vs. dash that can wind up going in different ways. Second it was a re-match of the regular season finale between these same two teams. And finally it was interesting for the events on the field. To start the match off the fans got rather rowdy and chucked a couple of rocks onto the pitch knocking over an elf and cracking open the skull of Wilbur Jackson a skeleton for the 49'ers. The Silverleaf Strikers took the opening kick and ran it into the end zone to take an early 1-0 lead. The undead of the 49'ers recieved the ensuing kick and proceeded to "smash" their way into the Strikers' end zone for a score of their own. On the way there they managed to crack open the skull of Ygritte (who had scored the first elf TD) and KO'ed Hodor, the treeman. Hodor would wind up taking root in the box refusing to return to the pitch. The half would end in a 1-1 tie. With the 49'ers ready to take the first kick of the second half and the Strikers down the anchor of their line, it looked like this would turn ugly for the wood elves and their fans. The 49'ers got the kick fielding it cleanly and taking it up the field all the way into the Strikers' end zone, but the ghoul who was 'going fo it' managed to trip over his own feet loosing the ball into the stands. The fans tossed the ball back onto the pitch sending halfway to the center line. The Strikers picked up the ball, and a brief melee erupted with the elves dashing their way into the oposite end zone to go up 2-1. the 49'ers had taken their toll, as at the end of that drive the elven Strikers were down to having only five players on the pitch, with many KO'ed, another elf seriously injured (will miss next match but no other lasting injury) and a third elf hurt bad enough to miss the rest of this single match. The Strikers, though badly out number now 6-11 on the pitch, were not to be discouraged. they danced their way around the 49'ers causing no small amount of frustration to be had. The ball bounced it's way around the pitch and after a bad pass the elves got a clean hit on the intended reciever to clear the ball enought that they could throw it to an open spot on the field with the intention of keeping the 49'ers from forcing a 2-2 tie and a sudden death OT period. With just enough time left the 49er's had the oportunity to pull off a feat of agility to match that of their oponents, but it was not to be. The clock was winding down and the pressure had to be felt by all. The first link in the chain of events to pull of the miracle upset blew up in the 49'ers faces. The ghoul whose task it was to pick up the ball (to take it to one of the wights for the long pass atempt to another ghoul who could've scored) failed to get it off the ground and fumbled away the chance for futher glory for his necromantic master. The Strikers held on to win 2-1 and move into the next round of the BPBL season 2 playoffs. . . but at what cost?

Match: Villainous Milliners (1) vs. Les Bleus (3)

Dwarfs suffered against elven speed but pretty even 1st half with only a 1 on a catch stopping the elves from leading 2:1 at the break. 2nd half Dwarven casualties and KO's combined with the elves doing the usual thing of taking the dwarfs from behind meant that the DE's ran away with it.

Sweltering heat the entire game was a pain to be polite. Rat ogre blocked himself into the cas box in 1st half. Skaven blitz and 2 turnovers combined with multiple 1's and drives 3 players down lead to the gutterrunners doing exactly as they pleased. Only one gutter runner got blocked over all match with masses of pushbacks

Match: Dog Solitude Storm (0) vs. The Sisterhood (3)

Brutal!! The pact team where still getting used to getting along, with many, many failed blocks (double skulls/both downs against block players) The sisterhood on the other hand had the luck of the gods with every block coming good. The Mino Boomzilla was carried off in the 3rd turn following a brutal hit and patched up (Apothed) only to be "taken out" again at the start of the 2nd half!! (BH again) With the card Exploding runes in play the pact did hold thier own (with many many blown up nuns) for most of the 1st half atho they did lose a player to injury and a KO! The Nuns mithril Av7 held again and again. The 2nd half saw numbers and guard take its toll on the luckless pact team. A fine game and a shame the Pact didnt get much (at all) out of it!!

Match: Riders of the Apocalypse (3) vs. Eddythi Eagles (0)

The game started reasonably well for the High Elves, with Duke Soffha Zard holding the ball down field whilst his teammates manouvered around the Riders, trying to get into a scoring position. However, an unexpected turnover from a slip on the greasy pitch led to a decisive Chaos turn, during which both Lion Warriors were taken out of the game, with Earl Usive being pushed into the crowd by a beastman and Earl Ecctrick being sent to the dugout by War. The Riders sacked the quarterback, knocked out the other Phoenix WArrior, and Death scooped up the ball to score in turn eight of the half.

With Duke New Chem refusing to come out of the dugout until right at the end, the elves were at a numerical disadvantage for the rest of the game, and could not stop Death from scoring a second TD. When the ball carrier was left exposed on the next drive, he was sacked again, this time with Famine running in the third TD. With one final turn to go, Duke New Chem finally decided to take to the field again, obtaining a completion, and then somehow going on to get mvp?

The Riders of the Apocalypse were happy with two Chaos Warriors gaining their first skill, whilst both teams used their winnings to purchase apothecaries. Initially the three hurt High Elf players claimed that they were so badly injured, they would have to miss the Eagles' next game, but the new apothecary later pronounced them fit to play, much to their chagrin.

Match: Beau Nidles (3) vs. Villainous Milliners (0)

LOTS of block dice rolled in this one, including a fair few uphills from the dwarves, all of which worked with no rerolls required. The second block of the game produced a dead dwarf, which the apo miraculously saved, only for another dwarf to pick up a niggle a couple of turns later. The dwarfs paid back in kind, killing a skellie who did not regen, and taking out the guarding blitz-ra who sat out the rest of the game. The thro-ra took a couple of turns to pick up the ball, but then managed to trundle down the pitch. Pinback had lots of practice setting up on offence, and has now got the hang of it! Excellently fun game with lots of big rucks, and not too much lasting damage. Khemri now have a 4th TG in time for the season to start, plus one with Stand Firm (they are trees after all!) and the CDs have an AG3 Bull.

Match: Putrefaction In Action (4) vs. The Mighty Stenchy Bones (1)

A true scoring fest for Putrefaction in Action! While the score doesn't reflect it The Mighty Stenchy Bones put one heck of a bloody fight, repeatedly filling the knockout and casualty boxes! The last few plays went solely to The Mighty Stenchy Bones, as Putrefaction In Action only had six players left on the pitch, and as such, were unable to prevent the last turn score of The Mighty Stenchy Bones. While not the MVP, the show was certainly watching Abumun score four times. I am sure Blood Bowl fans everywhere look forward to a future rematch between these two teams.

in what can only be described as a match dominated by poor dice, Hudson managed his rolls better!! failed dodges and failed leaps on his part where matched by failed GFI's (to score) and failed handoffs (to score) by me. The undeads reluctance to break Av7 for 90% of the match didnt help, at one stage I was 3 players down to his 1 Ko! I must however say in honesty a fair result.

Match: Scaly backs (0) vs. Vigour Mortis (3)

Hello and welcome to what is potentially the deciding match of cakebowl Season 3 before we start, let's take a look at the two contenders. The overdog is Vigour Mortis who are currently unbeaten this season, coach Spiky is at the helm and his squad have matured a lot since their first run out in Season 2. His squad is at full strength, and a couple of Zombies have recently been fired to help keep the team lean in the Team Value department.
Facing the Necromantic are the Scaly Backs, also veterans of 2 seasons. They're being coached by deputy Pinback while coach Leighton is overseas rumoured to be looking for new talent. His squad is light, as star skink Dusty is recovering from injury so the Scaly's only have 11 players on the roster prior to this important match, although there's a chance they can hire some extra manpower.
As we're speaking, I've just received some news that the Scaly Backs will not be purchasing any extra players, and have spent their inducement funds on hiring the services of a Wizard and 2 dirty tricks cards. This seems to be a high risk strategy and guaranteed to cause some extra mayhem during the match, which can only be a result for the crowd!
As the players line up on the field we see one of the cards in play already - Jumper the Skink seems to have acquired a pair of large hobnail boots! He's looking a little slow in them... The Lizards win the toss and elect to receive, the ball is kicked towards the centre of the pitch and is recovered into a cage in the left wide zone. The Saurus blitz a wight in the wide zone but fail to make headway into the opponent's half, as Murty McMalice stands firm.
With that the Necro team mobilise the defense, and again the lizards have trouble breaking through the defensive wall. Lightening the Skink manages to dodge his way where brute strength failed but is intercepted and brought to the floor with a massive tackle by Mutley, Vigour's star Werewolf.

Charlie won the kickoff roll, got +2 Fame, and decided to let me receive...I then did a TTM TD in turn 2!
I caused 5 BH, 2 KO's & 1 SI (on Ahkmed "The Ace", which he apothed) by half time. Of these, Deeproot did the SI...He BH (rolled 3 9's) 3 flings, a fourth was a self inflicted BH with a failed TTM landing roll.
By the 2nd half charlie had 5 players...and when he finally got into a scoring position, he passed...and I intercepted!
Only rolled 10k(+20k for fame)=30k winnings for charlie(sorry Charles)!
Flings need a Drugs Test!

This was a game decided by dice management, once we both realised we would fail EVERY important dodge (twice per player in my case)and didnt bother trying anymore the game settled down. Pretty standard match with teams being successful on thier drive and very little in the way of turnovers.
